Our client is a leading construction company in need of experienced Quantity Surveyors to work on the Christchurch rebuild project. These positions carry a salary in the region of 75 95k plus benefits. The successful candidates will advise and manage schedules and costs relating to insurance claims. The main duties are to carry out quality assurance of schedules prior to submission; review and collate building inspection reports into schedule of quantities including pricing & valuing the work; issue all reports, prices and valuations to the loss adjuster for approval to proceed; prepare tender documentation and negotiate with and appoint contractors, and monitor and report on construction costs until completion of claim. Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying and come from a P.Q.S. and/or contractor background and have a good understanding of timber housing, construction or commercial buildings. We are familiar with international time zone differences as a significant component of our recruitment is from overseas, so we speak with overseas candidates most NZ mornings/UK evenings.
