JOB DESCRIPTION This role is join our Power Generation team in designing electrical hardware systems mainly using proprietary hardware components for control panels and primarily focused on PLC's DCS MCCs Drives & Controls and Switchgear. Although office based in Staffordshire the role will involve travel in the UK with the possibility of some periods away at customer sites carrying out surveys designing solutions and assisting with testing and commissioning. The opportunity exists to develop as a Lead Engineer/Site Manager for the right candidate with the Company offering appropriate training. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS It is essential that the suitable Electrical Design Engineer has excellent communication skills as client contact is likely Working knowledge of Autocad Electrical Knowledge of designing electrical panels containing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and/or DCS LV modular distribution systems incorporating either MCCbs Transformers or Switchboards. Knowledge of the Design and implementation of Motor Control Centres Motor Control Gear Instrumentation Working knowledge of Control Electrical & Instrumentation circuits A good working knowledge of related safety and environmental legislation G5/4 Harmonic Standard Able to Develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations Thorough understanding of or working towards BS7671 IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regs Understanding of IEC BS EN 60439 1Low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies Confidence to work within a multidisciplinary design team Ability to undertake site survey work as part of the design process Suitably “hands on” to assist the site engineers with testing and commissioning DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS Will hold Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status Able to take responsibility for Site Management during installation & commissioning periods (with appropriate training given/certification achieved) Experience in sub contract liaison To apply for this position candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
