We are looking to recruit an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and develop the procurement function in line with a developed supply chain management strategy for our client. Our client operates in Civil Engineering and is one of the Top Tier Contractors. Key Responsibilities •Business Management Formulate and deliver a supply chain strategy Support the proposals department to deliver cost savings and negotiate with suppliers of key materials during the tender preparation period Develop and maintain an up to date supply chain database and be responsible for ensuring vendors are of a high quality and uphold the Company's values Provide a lean procurement process to support the operational requirements of the business Work closely and effectively with customers and joint venture partners to ensure that selected vendors provide save and assured delivery along with maximum value Uphold HS&E and Quality principles and ensure the importance of these are fully understood as a value throughout the supply chain. •Financial Management Demonstrate cost savings throughout the business from a quality supply chain •Customer Relationships Work closely and effectively with all other disciplines to ensure that vendors will provide assured delivery and maximum value against the time cost quality and safety requirements of the business unit/Company. •Communication Compile reports on the performance of the supply chain and develop and implement improvement programmes with the vendors to achieve continuous improvement Liaise with JV and Alliance procurement teams to share best practice and maximise value. Knowledge Experience and Personal Qualities •Have a detailed understanding of modern supply chain principles including chain dynamics supply clusters and interface solutions •Possess a full understanding of the purchasing cycle construction processes •Have a clear understanding of the relationship between cost and working capital including stock holding costs and payment discounts •The successful candidate must have a proven track record of delivering a credible and highly developed supply chain strategy •Previous experience of working within the construction industry is preferable ideally in civil engineering •Must possess strong commercial acumen •Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills •The successful candidate must be a highly organised individual who is able to manage their own workload and be able to deliver to tight timescales •A keen eye for detail is a must •Must have a customer friendly approach at all times and champion the Company's values.
