Technical Director - Hydrogeology
Our client a leading UK and Internationally renowned multi disciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Technical Director to manage and grow their established team of Hydrogeologists. You will act as Discipline Lead for Hydrogeology throughout the UK and Technical Lead for Hydrogeology on projects working in conjunction with the Middle East team. You will be responsible for managing both technically and commercially and growing an existing team of experienced Hydrogeologists OBJECTIVES Focusing on Water Resources Contaminant Flow and De watering throughout the UK and in the Middle East. To develop confidence and strong working relationships with clients (internal and external) and colleagues across the business. To show Technical Leadership in the field of Hydrogeology ensuring the technical quality of all modelling reporting and bid proposals. RESPONSIBILITIES Undertaking and managing the day to day operations in respect of the following key areas: Undertake manage and supervise major bids PQQ's and tenders for Hydrogeology work. Undertake manage supervise and coordinate business development activities for the Hydrogeology Team. Undertake manage supervise and coordinate Hydrogeology projects and ensure all projects are delivered on time to budget. Preparation of project budgets fee estimates and supporting information for financial analysis. Project Management of all Hydrogeology projects ensuring that the assessment and management of all commercial and contractual risks are undertaken and that contracts are correctly formed to acceptable T&C's fee levels and programme times. Management of team workload and utilisation in close co operation with the Technical Directors and other Team Leaders within Geoscience and across our clients business Participate in the business planning process particularly for the Hydrogeology team Identify staffing requirements and take an active role in the recruitment of new staff in order to develop the Hydrogeology team. Undertake own continuing professional development and lead in the development of other Hydrogeology staff. Work will require travel in the UK and abroad particularly the Middle East to offices and/or sites. QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & EXPERIENCE A degree in Geology or related subject and a postgraduate qualification in Hydrogeology. Chartered with a Professional Institution.Strong Water Resource Hydrogeology experience with Water Companies throughout the UK and ideally with experience working in the Middle East Region. Good motivation influencing people management and delegation skills. Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner Good business development skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Good knowledge and experience of commercial and contractual aspects of project. The role could be based in the South East or Bristol. Other locations in the UK could be considered.
