Golder is looking for a Senior Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years practical experience as a Project Manager within one of more of the following areas: construction management civil engineering mining geotechnical or related earthwork fields. The successful candidate will have a university degree in engineering and professional project management training through a University or Project Management College/Institute. You will have in depth theoretical knowledge with strong practical project management experience. The successful candidate will hold a registered designation; Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) or comparable program. You will participate in ongoing project management seminars and workshops to share and implement best practices. Project Management Responsibilities: Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing project needs and requirements. Identifies in house and third–party resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Negotiates with other group and division managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within Golder. Manages day to day operational aspects of project scope schedule and budget from project beginning to end while ensuring project documents are complete current and stored appropriately Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path through proper planning and scheduled project timelines. Tracks project milestones and deliverables with appropriate project management tools. Proactively manages changes in project scope identifies potential crises and devises contingency plans. Determines the frequency and content of status reports for the client and project team analyzes results and troubleshoots problem areas. Review deliverables prepared by team and/or ensures appropriate senior review before presenting a client. Follows quality assurance and quality control procedures. Minimizes client and Golder exposure to risk on project. Conducts project post mortems and creates recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Project Accounting Responsibilities Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Manages project budget. Determines appropriate revenue recognition ensures timely and accurate invoicing and monitors receivables for project. Follows up with clients when necessary regarding unpaid invoices. Analyzes project profitability revenue margins bill rates and utilization. The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: Recognized Project Management Professional Designation required; PMP Ten (10) years total experience as a professional engineer with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Project Manager. An understanding of consulting revenue models. Experience identifying business development and cross selling opportunities as they relate to a specific project. Proven experience mentoring and leading project team members regarding project goals.
