Job Title: Project Manager Civils) Location: New Zealand, ChristchurchPay Rate: $90 115k NZ$ dependent on experience Have you ever thought of making the move abroad? Demolition, Residential & Commercial rebuilds, reconstructing the roads, bridges, drainage and utilities infrastructure, it’s all happening. And the construction industry is the place to be with a distinctive buzz resonating from engineering circles within the town. The Company The company is one of the few established players within NZ Construction Industry. Due to the construction works happening in and around CHCH they are looking at a year ahead with an unprecedented order book of work in hand and to add to that they are about to be awarded further projects. They expect this level of activity to be sustained and even increase over the next 5 years. Main Duties As a Project Manager you will be managing civil infrastructure Projects in and around the CHCH area, will be part of a dedicated team and will report into the Area Contracts Manager. You will be responsible for managing various types of projects both large and small, and for giving instruction and direction to your team to make sure works are carried out in line with the specification and within the correct time frames. You will have a high level knowledge of contracts and also be financially and commercially astute. On top of that and thru the management of your team you will be expected to manage various sub contractors, solving engineering and technical issues, be responsible for long term programming of works and monitoring the construction program inline with the overall project program, controlling of H&S elements, interfacing with the client and monitoring & controlling quality. Requirements The successful candidate will bring to the role; 10 12 years + Post Grad experience, and hold a relevant degree in civil engineering or similar Previous work history with a top or established mid tier UK or NZ Engineering Construction company A good understanding and demonstrative experience of standard civil engineering practices and techniques, including supervision of construction works, such as roads, RC structures insitu/precast), major earth works, piling and foundation works, utilities and services, WWTW. Previous experience in delivering large sections of works through managing your own large team. a practical minded hands on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills A solutions orientated attitude with a desire to progress in your career.
